What the Course Entails and Exam Details

This examination is not a course, but a comprehensive assessment of a candidate's readiness for general contracting across a vast landscape.

The material covers two primary areas: commercial construction and business management. Candidates must exhibit deep understanding in subjects like business & finance, legal and regulatory requirements, concrete, masonry, steel, wood framing, roofing, safety and OSHA compliance, estimating, project management, scheduling, code compliance, contract law, and financial management for contractors.

The exam is demanding and draws from 24 extensive reference books, which candidates must be deeply familiar with.

What to Expect in the Final Exam

You can expect a professional, computer-based testing environment administered through major third-party vendors, typically PSI Exams.

The final exam consists of 115 multiple-choice questions, and you will be allocated a total of 5 hours (300 minutes) to complete it.

Crucially, this is an open-book exam, but with strict rules: you may only bring approved, unmarked reference books. Permanent color tabs are allowed for indexing, and highlighting/underlining is permitted, but handwritten notes, temporary sticky tabs, and copying of question materials are strictly forbidden.

A minimum passing score of 70% is required, meaning you must answer at least 81 questions correctly. Results are usually reported quickly, providing immediate feedback.
