• Pennsylvania State Laws and Regulations: Familiarity with the specific rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology that govern the practice of nail technology.

What to Expect in the Final Exam

The Pennsylvania State Board Nail Technician written exam is a computer-based, multiple-choice test administered exclusively by Pearson VUE at their official testing centers. This exam is a closed-book, timed event.

• Format: The exam consists of 110 multiple-choice items, which include 100 scored items and 10 non-graded pretest questions that do not count towards your score.

• Passing Score: You must achieve a minimum scaled score of 75 to pass.
