What to Expect in the Final Exam

The full, official CRCST final exam is a rigorous test of your readiness for the sterile processing environment.

It is a computer-based, multiple-choice examination.

The exam consists of 150 questions.

Out of these 150 questions, 125 are scored, while 25 are unscored "pretest" questions used for future test development. You will not know which questions are unscored.

You are given a maximum of three hours (180 minutes) to complete the entire exam.

The results are reported simply as Pass or Fail. A scaled score is not provided; passing indicates you have met the minimum standard of competence established by the certifying body.

Once your application is approved, you will receive a testing ID and instructions to schedule your exam.
